Garden Buddies: Promoting Healthy Communities. Participants engage in all aspects of creating a garden from choosing seeds, planning the plot, fertilizing, planting the seeds or seedlings, watering, nurturing, and of course picking and enjoying the vegetables and herbs. During each session volunteers bring healthy snacks, incorporating fruits, vegetables and herbs from the garden whenever possible. This snack time provides an opportunity to support good nutrition and to sample new fresh foods.
