We are back at Jay Peak Resort for another frosty winter fundraising campaign to bring increased adaptive sport and recreational access across northern Vermont and New Hampshire. First raise funds and then send it!

On January 10th, join us for an amazing party on the slopes at Jay Peak Resort in celebration of funds raised for adaptive sport, recreation, and adventure! Help us to reach our fund-raising goal of $30,000.00! This full-day ski-a-thon runs from 8:30am to 3pm (ski) 3pm – 6pm (après shred) and invites skiers and riders of all abilities to hit the slopes together.

Shred-A-Thon participants pledge to raise a minimum of $200.00 before the day of the event to help ensure that life-changing outdoor recreation remains accessible to people of all abilities. Spend the day on the mountain, and celebrate your efforts with a fun-filled skiing or riding experience. We will award prizes raffle style for the most funds raised, creative costumes, and the Serious Stoke/Spirit Award during our après celebration, which kicks off at 3pm with live music, libations, and good vibes!

For the past five years, Adaptive Sports Partners has been a trailblazer in the Northeast Kingdom, becoming the first organization to offer comprehensive adaptive sports services to individuals of all ages and disabilities. From toddlers to seniors, we cater to athletes ranging from three to 95 years old, encompassing a broad spectrum of physical, developmental, emotional, behavioral, and intellectual disabilities.

Our mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in activities alongside their peers, which many have never had access to before. Thanks to our programs, students with disabilities are now skiing at Jay Peak, mountain biking with their families, paddling on our scenic lakes, and hiking our tallest mountains. These activities bring invaluable physical, social, and mental health benefits.

As our programs continue to grow and provide significant value to our community, fundraising events like the Shred-A-Thon Jay Peak are essential. Events are fantastic community builders, although the reality is that they cost money to happen!  When you raise funds, you help to cover those costs and then, the money you raise directly supports the purchase and maintenance of expensive adaptive sports equipment and ensures that our programs remain accessible for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. Every dollar from the Shred-A-Thon will contribute to making adaptive sports a reality for all in our community.

Why fundraise?

Although lifts are open until 4pm, we will be tallying up vertical feet when the clock strikes 3:30pm–the same time that our après-shred celebration begins in The International Room! So bring those stats to us before 3:30pm and then take a celebratory run for the day!

Yes! Of course you may! Costumes and silliness are encouraged as long as you are able to shred safely–”No capes!” The individual or team who most embodies the spirit of the day will receive an award at the après-shred. This/these person(s) will celebrate our mission of making outdoor recreation accessible to everyone. Boldly showcasing your love and passion–think costumes, fundraising initiative, event-day spirit, etc–for the ASP mission wins the day!

I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Adaptive Sports Partners team as the Jay Peak program manager! I’m an NEK native and recently moved back to Vermont from Boston after working for an adaptive exercise program in the Spaulding Rehab network. I had a very gratifying three years working in the hospital setting and am now thrilled for the change of scenery and an opportunity to share my passion for skiing and riding! In my free time, I love running, reading fantasy novels, and spending time with my black lab Dougal. Very much looking forward to getting to know all of you and fingers crossed the snowfall continues as it has this past week!
